Vegan 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake!

Tonight, I'm making a guest appearance in artist, Anna Goodhind's kitchen.
Rad! How frickin' cool. I tell you now, this is a perfect recipe for Easter breakfast or anytime of the day and it only takes five minutes from start to finish. Seriously!
I know I've been putting up a lot of recipes for processed food lately but missing out on these kinds of foods are the reasons why many omnivores think going vegan is impossible. Funnily enough, the more we delve into veganism, the further away from processed foods we tend to go as we come to realise how sluggish they leave us.

Every now and again we all like a treat... And hey! It's fun and sugar free.
Never forget how to play.

Time: 5 minutes from start to finish.
Feeds: one to two.

Ingredients:
•3 tablespoons of self raising flour.
•2 tablespoons rice syrup or your sweetener of choice.
•One and a half tablespoons of cocoa powder.
•2 tablespoons vegan milk.
•2 tablespoons of light oil, such as sunflower or coconut.
•2 squares of vegan chocolate, chopped (optional.) Sweet William do a chocolate sweetened with stevia with no added sugar.
•Quarter of a teaspoon of vanilla essence.

Method:
Combine ingredients in a mug. Stir well so it's not lumpy.
Put in the microwave on high for three minutes.
Enjoy!
It really is that simple.
Happy Easter everyone!

  1. Love it! That would be a great recipe to have on hand if you are away and staying somewhere with just a microwave too.

  2. What would you do if you didn't have a microwave? Like me.

  3. I wonder if you could steam it in a saucepan? I'd probably just bake a cake in the oven. This is more of a recipe for those who are transitioning or desparate for a super quick cake fix. :)

I'm just waiting for mine to cool down, right now. Squee!
